No Spoilers :)
The Good: Ewan McGregor is the saving grace of this show - his performance is 10/10 & makes it worth watching for nostalgic purposes. The scenery & production quality is also top notch.
The Bad: Disney strikes again with a watered down take on the franchise. They clearly target a young demographic rather than making it a film that can be enjoyed by all ages. They always make sure there isn't anything that could upset a 5 year old - ex: they cut out the flashback scene from when Anakin killed the padawans.. Then in their retake they show a group of padawans escaping to safety instead of what actually occures in the OG plot. This totally kills any tension or suspense in the story line. There is also this incredibly cringe scene of "bad guys" chasing a young girl and they are running super slow, tripping over their own feet & running into trees.. it was just embarrassing to watch. The "bad guys" are all very stereotypical, one sided, over the top characters. Their dialog is just lazy and unbelievable.. also one of them was wearing what looked like a 'Guy Fieri' shirt so that was weird lol.
I've only finished episode 1 but I'm really going to try to stick with it because of my love for Ewan McGregor

Side note: I think the major split in opinion about Disney watering down the show comes from one's perspective on what they find suspenseful or moving. For example, just because some random bystanders are killed, it doesn't leave most people feeling impacted or make a show "dark" / have depth. Think about it in terms of a videogame, do you feel moved when people die in GTA or COD?In comparison we have 'Revenge of the Sith' as a prequel & 'A New Hope' as the sequel to this show (Spoilers for those movies if you haven't seen them). In 'Revenge of the Sith' we saw some Game of Thrones level atrocities take place; almost the entire main cast is unalived, major emotional damage to main characters, dictatorship style genocide & child homicide. 'A New Hope' kills off Obi-Wan, Luke finds his parents chared skeltons after they were murdered & Leia literally witnesses her entire home planet blown into pieces along with every family member and friend she's ever had. I'd love to see Disney grow a pair and try living up to the Star Wars legacy to this level.
It's about the plot buildup, character development & relatability. If you have unrelatable villans & overkill cheesy/childish moments, it's hard to take tame "violence" all that seriously. That's why I previously stated that they wouldn't include anything that would upset a 5 year old, even a child wouldn't take that level of "violence" to heart... On the otherhand, the scenes with Obi-Wan do have that emotional draw & relatability that make it worth giving this show a shot. I believe he will carry this show to the end 😅
