I picked up this movie on concept: A murderous Thanos-like alien ends up in the control of a foul-mouthed little girl and is forced to do stuff he wouldn’t usually do around the neighborhood while another even greater force of evil spends the movie tracking them down. Sounds fun, kinda... right? Yeah, not really. The plot Kinda ambles along until a final expected confrontation ... but along the way gets lost with meandering subplots that never seem to end (like that of the friend of the kids’ who gets transformed into some creature, or the parents’ weird relationship with each other). PG felt like a neat idea, but the filmmakers couldn’t really decide how to handle it so they bounced the script around like a hot potato until they stopped filming. I know it was never meant to be a big budget movie, but there’s so much that could have been done to tighten it up and turn it into a gem. Overall, this is a disappointment.
