It may not be for everyone but it in now way trash or garbage like some of these people are saying. For me so far it is a 4.5 but depending on the upcoming trials it could become a 5 if they lean into the horror and get more witchy.
But so far I’m absolutely loving the acting, the cast (and their chemistry), the writing, the directing, the special effects (Death and the Salem Seven look soo scary! And they built an actual set for the Witches’ Road and it looks incredible! Even built miniatures for a single scene and it looked so good that I thought it was CGI. OH AND A FULL SIZE REAL WORKING WATER SLIDE IN THE ROCKS?! SO AMAZING!).
I think that there actually some really funny lines so far, I love the mixture of campiness with witchy magical stuff and the horror as well as the MCU stuff it just works!, and AUBREY PLAZA AND KATHRYN HAHN ARE ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT! They are killing it!
I totally understand sometimes movie and shows about women and lgtbq characters can feel a bit preachy or cliche. But this is not that at all. This is just pure spooky season fun but in the MCU. SO I THINK PEOPLE NEED TO CHILL OUT AND STOP BEING SO HATEFUL!
Also I hope all of these review bombers and haters realize that this could be the MCU’s test for whether audiences are receptive of horror as well as more dark and mystical magical side of stuff from the comics. So if they think this show failed and people hate it they very well could cancel future plans for Ghost Rider, Blade, Mephisto, and other darker mystical spookier stuff.
Though I’m convinced most of them don’t even actually care that much they are just following the bandwagon…it’s almost like they don’t even watch these things they hate so much. Are they even MCU fans? Like I said I totally get being annoyed when things are written and directed poorly with lots of preachy stuff but not everything with women and lgbtq characters are that. There are amazing things with women and lgtbq characters Alien, Terminator 2, The Hunger Games, Game of Thrones, Stranger Things, Baldur’s Gate, Deadpool, etc.
