I've read all the "original series" books. I tried other series but couldn't get into it. They should have kept Eric Nylund as the writer. So far it feels the same for this series, plot is weak, writing is garbage. Even the action scenes (with Spartans) we're sub par. They looked like robots and moved slow. Good reviews must be from people who haven't read the original series. Wasted opportunity :(

As someone who's played all witcher games, i feel series adaptation has hit the mark. Lore is all there in a very rich way, visually it looks like what one would expect from a big budget production, (cinematography and action sequences are some of the best I've seen in a while). By the end of the first episode i was so drawn in that i felt Geralt should look like Henry Cavill rather then his video game version self. Character development for all the main NPCs were lengthy and in depth, again no shortcuts. Acting is sophisticated and leaves one feeling immersed and vested. A+++ I really hope they keep it running for a long time
