Give me realism ffs, I'm tired of airbrushed like models in series like this and mostly fantasy not fact. Nobody's got the balls to depict how it possibly truly was in ancient Rome, guys walking round with perfect beard trimmer stubble and most of the so called gladiators are without any scars etc. The writing is average and feels like they just watched Ridley Scott's Gladiator & Stanley Kubrick's Spartacus or Ben-Hur making notes and ripping of bits but completely missing the quality/style/magic of those films. Tbh it's stolen ideas from many things that have gone before, just repackaged in a crap way. A younger Anthony Hopkins may have turned this trash down. $140 million well spent 😬

Average, some of the points James made in his review were pretty fair imo. I imagine the budget was fairly gigantic...money well spent?
