Betelgeuse

I know the Japanese voice actor so I am supporting this anime 100%. It came very strong with the opening (Episode 1), and the storyline of defectors being murdered one by one by the new "Shinobi" regime. Overall, Higan reminded me of Obito, and with the red eyes, the Uchiha clan (Naruto). The nanotechnology and Higan's suit reminded me of Arbalest (Full Metal Panic). Plotline was pretty straightforward. However, they were killing off bad guys without giving away their personal background. Thus, giving it a 4 STAR instead of 5. Prediction: Zai will most likely betray his master, and Higan will become the new head clan.

Finally watched it again on Disney+ 23 years after its first release. This movie stayed with me all these years. The voice actors were all terrific, the storyline, the soundtrack…. It was such a shame that it did not made enough profit at the box office. What would be awesome though, if they remade it in 3D CGI for the 25th Anniversary.
