BHARAT is a colossal disappointment. Its a well intentioned attempt not well executed since one is unable to get engrossed in the emotion of the story . It tries too hard to tug on the heartstrings – but the screenplay is too scattered, the length yawn inducing and editing is lacklustre. The historical events depicted are a mere touch-and-go and the frequent change of settings aren’t appealing et al. The film hangs on the shoulders of its leadman Salman describing his struggles and achievements but his is no accomplished performance . He looks fatigued ,caked and haggard in his youth and his voice modulation is forced though surprisingly pulls off the Old Man part much better . Bharat shows the limitations in his cringeworthy acting galore with the distracting make up.The film has its moments but they are few and far inbetween .Mediocrity rises to the top on the shoulders of incompetents ( Read-Salman ). But sorry it isn’t an option for me. 2/5 STARS
