I’ve not read the book, but I loved the TV series…..for the most part. Fabulously written, believable characters and very well acted. It was indeed gripping and addictive. I can take it if there’s am ambiguous ending or that it’s not all neatly ‘tied up in bow’, but with this TV series, the ending was a complete letdown. I felt the whole of the series was leading up to something, but it failed to materialise. Even with Ursula’s ‘retirement death’, the narrator said that “Ursula felt she had forgotten to do something”. Throughout the whole story, it alluded to Teddy being a very important reason for Ursula being reborn time and time again, but again, nothing materialised. It ended up making me feel as if the whole TV show was pointless.
