Btw Most reviews aren't about this shark movie.
Like many other reviewers, I was also rooting for the shark, mainly in the movie's second half (looking at the friend and the ex-boyfriend?). The movie begins with the stereotypical party and the introduction to characters without much depth but from the gist of things we have two female characters with opposing personalities. This gives me "47 meters down" vibes because it's similar to the sister dynamic and well they end up in the situation because of the outgoing character.
The characterisation in the movie wasn't really original, but it was somewhat refreshing to see a different situation in which the characters are placed. And it really follows the carefree nature of drunk carefree teenagers, but the setting didn't change for almost the whole movie, it would have been nice to see the reactions of "the people who maybe cared about [them]" after they all went missing.
Basically, the movie got boring and irritating pretty fast and I thought the main character didn't seem to get any development as I expected her to become stronger not only to fight back in the situation but to stand up for herself more. It was pitiful how she let her ex-boyfriend? (she didn't break up with him) and her supposed friend walked all over her and I also didn't like the fact the ex-boyfriend? almost got like a heroic scene which made him even more of a dislikable character, at least for me.
