I have put thousands of hours into Madden since Madden 12, here is my super honest review. The gameplay is much better in terms of how on the field plays. Passing feels good, running feels good, and surprisingly, animations seem fine. Once you get into a game, things feel good. Unfortunately, that's where my praises stop. First, I wanna shout out the music. The music in this game is GOD AWFUL. They have been on a slow decline for years. Just the same annoying rap music. I miss when they would mix in pop, rock, rap, etc. That was a great time. Loading up Madden and having the Weeknd start playing, that felt great. Next, the User interface. AWFUL. When clicking between menus, there is such a delay between when you click, and when it actually loads. For a game running on PlayStation 5, that loads most games in milliseconds, why does clicking between franchise take so long to load? They also made some changes to Franchise mode, mostly just moving things around which is unfortunate. Instead of clicking on "Manage Roster" and the top option being to adjust your own roster, the first option is NFL rosters. While this may seem like such a little issue, it is something that is just genuinely annoying that they would CHANGE from the last Madden. Finally, basically cut and pasted from old games, the stupid faces that they have had for the past 8 years. Just a minor annoyance, but really cuts into the immersion of building a franchise. I wish wish wish that devs could pay attention to the little details instead of making stupid celebrations and animations.
