This movie was badly written. Not much of a plot, it was as if the actors were making it up as they went along. Too long, unbelievable and not funny and way too long. People were walking out. What was wonderful Mastroianni doing in this dopey movie? It was also totally pornographic, and should have had an X rating. (Maybe I wouldn't have invited my granddaughter to see it with me?)

This film moves slowly, deliberately and delicately. Two eight-year old girls meet in the countryside while one is helping her father clear out her grandmother's country house. The relationship between the girls fuels the action and is often somewhat confusing; they look alike, play games and help build a shed in the woods while we wonder: what is this movie actually about? The payoff comes at the end and the issues and emotions become perfectly clear. A lovely and tender movie, but it requires patience.
