I watched the film twice each time with a different progressive lawyer. We loved IrRESISTible. Are negative reviews from Repub critics who never watched the movie? I bet not one of them could have foreseen the ending or even knew such a strategy was plausible. It was great: funny, intelligent, and what a surprise punch of a twist. A real gotcha ending. Stay for the credits cause an interview follows.

I love Joanne Froggatt so was so excited to see her in something else. Even she couldn't save it. I watched the first ep and hated it. But Joanne. I love Joanne. So I tried again with ep 2. Got half way through and turned it off.

I stopped watching. The writing is shallow and depictions are culturally offensive. I very much wanted to like the series because after watching Downton Abbey and The West Wing straight through 3 times I was looking forward to an alternative with equally sharp dialog. I was disappointed.

All history should be portrayed with such superb skill. Whether you agree with Abdul's ingratiating himself to the queen is irrelevant. It happened. Abject poverty with no possibility of escape is never grounds for imposing free-will choices made from the comfort of one's warm home & full pantry. That's why the ruling class needs the impoverished. How else can they exploit the service sector at below living wage?! This film was very good.
