What some viewers didn´t understand is that this is a language teaching material. It was never meant to be a television hit, or a competitor to FRIENDS. It is directed to STUDENTS, so the dialogues HAVE to be limited in vocabulary and grammar.
It is a very good and well-structured TEACHING material. If you can understand that, and you are a language learner, then this series is one of the best you will ever find.
