I love faith-based films and films based on true stories. Faith-based films have had quality issues (both in production and acting) throughout the years, but not this one! The film's production quality was great, and the actors were great.
The film takes a unique approach to the Christian music industry, shedding light on its business aspects. It's not just a story about music, but a narrative that delves into the complexities of balancing fai in its portrayed and commerce. This perspective, in my opinion, is a thought-provoking take on a subject that is often overlooked.
It shows the struggle and the mounting stress of those struggles. It shows what can be achieved when you pull together as a family. It shows great reliance on God for guidance and favor. It shows the generosity that God can use through others. It shows the conflicts families face in the midst of great struggles. It also shows what all families need to do after conflict, reconciliation. In a time when there are so many conflicts without reconciliation, which leads to further division, hurt, and isolation, this element was huge.
The "Unsung Hero" of this story: I'm a guy and clueless in many ways. Because I could deeply relate to the dad character of the movie, I was so caught up in him that I missed the unsung hero until it was revealed at the end of the movie. Indeed, that character is the unsung hero of this story. Missing the unsung hero is really part of the plot. We miss the heroes who are right there in our lives.
I look forward to the streaming and DVD version so I can watch it again, for I know I will glean more insights.
Great Movie!
