After hitting 1600 MR I can safely say this game is horrible, and the only people pushing it are those abusing the Meta. The gameplay is toxic, there's basically no room to mix your opponent up but the person who really abuses this is Akuma, trying to land a cross up on Akuma is impossible because his walk speed is literally the speed of Zangiefs dash.
At high levels you have to play extremely slow, press buttons and pray you get an opening, then during that 0.25 interval of a hit landing you have to dash in and get your combo. It's so rigid and stale and it doesn't feel like I'm playing a fighting game but rather chess, where you study every option and basically memorize all the frame data to suceed rather than being a raw unpredictable savage like a true fighter. This game is nerdy and slow as hell but disguises itself as some grand badass cool guy when it's really as stale as old bread.
Blazblue and Tekken don't have this problem at all, and I never feel frustrated playing either of those games. I just wish Blazblue got the love it deserves.
