Love the movie! Yes the animals that were used on set are real. I know a lady and her husband that were electricians on set. She told me how the baby animals had to be traded out as they grew fast, it was amazing to hear the behind the scenes stories. I was told the stories over 20 years ago and it has stuck with me to the tee of what she told me.
