My take on this is probably gonna be a lot different than a lot of people. See I had no idea what critical role was, let alone "Vox Machina". I'm not familiar with DnD stuff at all. Never was interested anyway. So I went in this show with zero expectation.
But boy to my surprise, it's good!! Quite enjoyable honestly. Not on par with 'Invincible' or 'Arcane' obviously. But it is a really enjoyable watch. I'm not unfamiliar with rpg stuff so I didn't feel lost at all but I'd imagine it won't distract most viewers. Magic, elfs, dwarfs (gnomes), dragons... you know, typical fantasy stuff. Story is quite good. Gives a good introduction to the band. If you're into fantasy genre then it'll be right up your alley. It has the right amount of humour, gore, action and of course, character development. The animation is good too. Facial expressions really stood out to me. I was surprised to know that it started from a Kickstarter project. Now that I've completed season 1, I'm off to critical role. Highly recommend this series.
