It was alright, I was expecting a lot more out of the movie when it came to comedy but hey, just might not be my style of comedy. The first scene of the movie about Andrew Thornton being knocked unconscious is 1 of 2 confirmed instances that actually happened. The second being the bear that ate cocaine. Doesn't pertain to how I shape my review but nevertheless I thought I should say that. Anyways, Andrew Thornton in the plane scene is fantastic, it sets a very jokey light hearted mood for the movie. Matthew Rhys did a fantastic job showing off his character. After Andrew's death the movie becomes far slower and understandably so. Explaining how each character is going to end up on "Blood Mountain" is important, this lasts for about 30 minutes and it was a little boring but it's nothing to complain about. The part where it goes downhill for me is when the cocaine bear just starts mauling everything, more specifically at the ranger station. What I was expecting when seeing this movie was a bear doing funny stuff while on cocaine and occasionally mauled people. What I got was, a cocaine bear that mauled people and occasionally did funny stuff. I feel it's more a problem with the trailers portraying the movie in a much funnier manner than the movie itself. In all honesty I can see people liking it if they have a gorier sense of humor, but it just wasn't for me.
TLDR:
I expected to get a movie that involved a bear doing funny stuff while occasionally mauled people but got a movie about a bear mauling people while occasionally doing funny stuff.
