Chuck Conners was always a good guy to me, but in this movie he really stood up to the role as a bully, coward, girl hitting thug. And Burle Ives was brilliant - he said those earthy lines with such convincing tone and intensity. The rich rancher...not so much..eh. Didn't like him from the git go.
It had some wonderful comic moments, some long looks, some artful pauses, and beutiful scenes. Lot of man stuff, and woman folk stand by your man. Oh, It seems so simple, but my god, our world has gotten so complex and far away from that...Are we really better off? I guess, but freedom has its hidden/unknown costs in more than one way.
