I typically don’t leave many reviews but I feel like I have to for this one. There are numerous beautiful quotes and thoughts that can be taken away from this movie that you’ll continue to think about long after it’s over. I adore the show “Normal People” for its ability to be raw and honest in regards to how complicated life and relationships can be, sometimes to the point of frustration. This movie offered the same type of honesty. It takes on grief in such a beautiful, painful, and complex way as it truly is in life. There was a moment where I felt frustrated with the way the main character’s friend, Thomas, was reacting. It felt a bit harsh for all Marc was going through when i realized, that it really was such an honest depiction of how complicated feelings can be intertwined with grief. I was brought to tears within the first few minutes of the movie and continued to be tearful through many bittersweet moments throughout. There are a few moments that feel a little cheesy but they’re rare. Overall, this is a film I will walk away from thinking about life, grief, and my own relationships in a different way and I think that’s the best possible outcome. Highly recommend everyone sees this movie!
