Euphoria depicts a world in which individuals have massive personal issues, such as drug use, explicit sexual activity, and explores a constant need to fill a void that's missing in their lives by whatever means necessary. Does that sound vaguely familiar to anyone? Oh, that's because it's what our society is turning into. Is it exaggerated to the point of being ridiculous? Absolutely! However, the exaggeration is necessary for us to see because we need to be aware that there's so many different situations like this in our lives. Euphoria is real, and that makes certain people uncomfortable because people don't want to face the fact that this is a part of our reality.

I liked it a lot more than I thought I would! Josephine and Hero's chemistry made up for the fact that there were no explicit scenes like the source material had, not that overly sexual content is needed except in order to stay true to the book. I also wish that the movie dived into Hardin's backstory just a little bit more, and the darkness that he feels inside. The movie leaned toward that, but in my opinion, it lacked the nitty-gritty of it all. Other than that, I really enjoyed the callbacks and quotes from the book. Hardin and Tessa made my heart happy! I know that's cheesey, but it's true and I have no regrets about it;)
