I don't know why people have such hate for this movie. It's decent, more of the past story driven than the present plot and this 'historic element' adds to the overall experience. Having been marketed as the 'beginning of evil' in the conjurverse, it surely does justice. The demon's projection & its fall is described in the best way possible. The catholic correlation brings in the essence that conjurverse is known for. I could've raised a star for this one had they excluded the stupid jump scares & a few out of the context dialogues. Over ridden visuals & illogical response in certain scenarios are certainly the drowning factors. The movie is stretched so as to maintain length as the overall story is like a folklore. It deserves a 4.5/5 (if stupidity is ignored). A good movie to watch.

REVIEW: If you understood this movie, properly, your perspective to view this world will change! This movie is not about being complex but more about the essence, it's feel. It's the most beautiful movie I ever watched. It offers you almost everything! but be prepared for the nostalgia afterwards. People often don't understand its real motive & start criticizing the plot. The purpose of this movie is way above the movie itself. Now If you're going to watch it, just close the this tab & get going. Don't watch any review, it may ruin your whole experience. It's a movie that I badly want to forget so that I may watch again for the first time. :-)
