I love this movie as I never really gave any thought as to how close Rome actually was to China at that time. Given that the Silk Road has been documented in many forms as a venue of which held significant purpose for merchants & other traders, I like to entertain the possibility that on that road, many encounters that became memorable & their stories were significant at that time. Why dismiss the possibilities of a great many history making events, especially when they are re-enacted as in the Golden Blade of which I felt was amazing. I love Jackie Chan as an actor & a skilled artist but I absolutely love it when he re-enacts a story that was passed on orally from those that have lived the life of the Silk Road forever. Who are we to comment. Just enjoy the possible. "To grow up learning to fight for your country & ruler to the death only to find that as a grown man when your country wants to kill you, there is nowhere to go", that struck a chord in my psyche. It made me wonder if the general was actually saying that even back then, the world, as in his world, was too small.
I always loved Zodiac the most until Golden Blade. Lots of action, alot of unspoken differences that were rather comical. To see two extremely progressive societies band together made for an absolutely fabulous story. Straight up!!!
