The themes are deep and nuanced. The characters are well developed and the plot is good. The storytelling really is the icing on the cake. A wonderful and addictive read.

Korra is the worst avatar ever and too many characters annoyed me

Trippy. Gory. Excessive and unnecessary nudity. Full of important messages on body image, youth, contentment, addiction and societal pressure. Though theatrical and exaggerated in some places, it was a meaningful film at least.

Verbose. I get that the authors were trying to make a point but did they have to be so long winded about it?
As my first taste of the proclaimed literary maverick that Stephen King is said to be, I'm sorely disappointed. Did we really need a backstory on each one of the fifty something characters in this book? Did there have to be so many characters that eventually the names blurred together and their lives stopped having any meaning to the reader? And what was the point of the tiger and the peacock? Why such a sloppy ending for the main characters? What was the point of the entire plot?
Needless to say, this was very far from expectation.

Loved her character arc. Female ML grew. Loved her acting as well. Male ML was simply drool worthy.

This is the best Nigerian movie I saw last year. Good acting, well paced plot, great scenery and costumes. Thumbs up to the cast and crew!

Four stars for a heart warming story, good acting and an innovative effort. Though we still have a looooooong way to go in terms of CGI, Mikolo is certainly a step in the right direction for Nigerian children's films/stories.

It's not for everyone.
But the emotion portrayed is raw and beautiful. The cinematography is powerful and the acting is top notch. A good watch if you're a fan of character driven stories over plot driven ones.
