Saw the show in NYC yesterday, and was so disappointed. I love musicals, and have seen most of the big ones, but this was more of a "pop concert" than a musical. While the singers were certainly talented, it was so over-the-top loud that I couldn't hear much of the lyrics, or even really appreciate their voices. And the flashing blinding lights. Even smoke! Awful. Just seemed like a cheap way to rev up an audience. I would have loved more of a story, period costumes, a set, acting. My fault, I should have done more research on it before going.
