One-shot so what? If the viewer wasn’t told that would they notice? There’s no attachment to the characters. Wooden acting... why is one of the L/Cpl characters so well-spoken? Why would the Germans go about such an elaborate plot just to catch 1400 men? In WW1 terms, that’s chicken-feed. The Germans come across as fanatical - the stabbing, burning pilot; the last shot wounded sniper: they have no human face.
