The Boogeyman would receive an A+ if it were submitted as a final project to a Film-Making 101 class at the local community college under the direction: "Spend millions of dollars making a horror movie which has no plot, no purpose, and no pay-off, but is filled with as many horror movie tropes as possible. Claim it is based on a Stephen King short story while nearly completely ignoring the source material. Most importantly, see how many times the characters can walk into a dark room without even trying to turn on the lights even though the monster is afraid of the dark. Bonus points for slowly revealing the monster through a child's disturbing drawings. As this is a school project there will be no sex or violence included in the final submission." Grade: A+
