I had high hopes for this book, but it was honestly so boring. I can appreciate a MC who has a love for slashers, but it felt like that was seriously her only personality trait. Wasn’t a big fan of how she thought killing herself on Friday the 13th would do anything, and only further made me more annoyed with her character. I will say, Mr. Holmes and Letha grew on me. I really loved their characters and how they cared for her. I felt like Jade’s trauma wasn’t introduced properly. It just kind of… came out of no where? I wasn’t even 100% sure if the trauma was what it was until she blatantly said it in the end. We still don’t know why Theo was killing people with a nailgun! You just left something that big out? Why was he chasing those construction workers? Where was he the whole time on the yacht? There was so many things left unanswered and the reveal of the killer was… kind of boring, too. I knew it would end up being who it was, but seriously? Some of the contents came out of no where and left me more confused than shocked.
