This WAS a great game, until you reach the end game and start collecting pieces of eight. Firstly, the game is incredibly buggy and will spam you with notifications, the the UI crashes and you can't open your map or access your ship, then the game just plain crashes. The storyline is actually quite good, the ship designs are also very cool, and the mechanics of naval battle in this game are modeled nicely. Unfortunately, when you reach the end game you become nothing more than a mule. The mechanics of this need to change. I so badly want to give this game 4 stars, however we don't buy games to do chores. I will say that I am very thankful that there is a CO-OP version to hostile takeovers - I cannot stand PvP only games, skull and bones did it great here. Lets hope the developers revamp the pieces of eight system or provide another outlet to earn it at the same pace.
