I love the show. About self check outs. Already worked all day to make the money- walked store and got what I needed - then have to check myself out and bag and pay for it - load in my car - unload at home & put items away. I’m exhausted with just typing it all. Also may have kids with me. There is a place for them when you have a few items or you just want to scan with the gun like Jeff likes to do but over all we need the cashier for when you have a large bill of groceries. I actually worked for 30 years at one of the companies mentioned and yes it took jobs away from people and the company has plenty of money to pay them. I do think there is a place for them but we also need the customer service of a cashier and that human interaction.
