When I saw the reviews online I was surprised. But then I looked at who was writing the reviews a bunch of adults. Apparently they weren't able to find inspiration, a emotional connection or political message, im glad they wernt able to. As far as who the movie is made for, children, mine loved it. If you want to have your kids watch a cute, innocent movie then this is it. It's refreshing to see a movie like this nowadays, don't listen to the critics.
