The original broadcast of the War of The Worlds back in 1938 caused quite a reaction as some listeners thought it was really happening. I watched the first episode of this new version in the hope that it would be as dramatic but my disbelief at the rubbish that I was watching rapidly took over. I watched the second episode in the hope that it might be better but unfortunately I was sorely disappointed. How the BBC can present a series that is so badly written, poorly acted and with such amateurish effects is beyond me. The War of The Worlds is a classic and should be treated as such – I shall not be watching the final episode.
