Arreba Stafford

I love this show; when I watch it, I feel like I am embraced within a dream. The soundtrack, as well as the actors make this all possible, as they handle their roles seamlessly. Dylan Wang, for instance did a great job conveying the complexity and nuances within Dongfang Qingcang. He was able to switch from being a character that lacked empathy and emotion, to one full of self-sacrifice and love. Though I was annoyed with Esther Yu's character, I understand how her use of annoyance and innocence aided to the growth of the character she played. In fact, Esther Yu's character reminds me a lot of the Biblical story from the Book of Esther. It is ironic that the actress that plays this titular character is named Esther too. Nonetheless, Esther Yu deserves accolades for her role in this awesome show.

This was an awesome film! It had me cracking up laughing, but it also made me so proud to see so many beautiful black faces on my screen. The dialog was awesome too. The fact that it was a science fiction film was the icing on the cake, too. That, and the "They Cloned Tyrone" song at the end credits.

This is an awesome show. The characters are realistic and refreshing all at once. I especially love Uncle Clifford because that brotha is always looking fierce and has a personality that matches his creative prowess. I was so impressed with the actor that played Uncle Clifford that I read up on him. While reading, I found out that he was raised in the same (North End) area of Detroit, MI that I was raised in! I did not know how to feel about this...I wondered if I should be mad at myself for never meeting him in the neighborhood, or happy that he was representing and holding it down on screen. Besides Uncle Clifford, the whole cast and crew is awesome too. The girl that plays Hailey also played in "Discovery of Witches." She is beautiful and charismatic and that is a very awesome thing to see on screen. The story line is action packed and thought provoking, too. I can say more, but I want to encourage everyone to watch this show. Put any biases you may have aside and look at this show as the work of art that it truly is.

I love this show and can watch it over and over again. The quirky humor and indirect social commentary are just a few things that have made me embrace this show. I am also a huge Carol Kane fan; I think she is a brilliant actress that has great comedic timing and talent. If she has not gotten her roses, she deserves a truckload of them. This show is both humorous and hopeful at the same time. It's a great combination and I can also enjoy this show with my nine year old.
