this movie kind of sucks but like in a fun way.villains are so iconic. One fight scene? Very good, loved some of the fight scene dynamics (although i can only watch so much fighting before it gets old). i think they went overboard with the couple parallels, like we get it, first movie we thought they should fuck nasty, now it's abusive relationship, but it went overboard. It reminds me of good omens season 2, but obviously worse. I don't know, its' *so* cringy, somehow more than the first film was, and felt very pointless at times. Not my cup of tea, but i did enjoy it. I love venom as a concept (even just as a relationship dynamic) but i think it's just too cheesy, first movie hit a better balance. also, it's not very funny. at all. it's fun, but it's not funny, and it's not even just that "i'm not the intended audience" not having watched many marvel movies, it's just genuinely not very funny, i think people would find it annoying. all the characterizations were *so* bizarre, too. Eddie and venom both got more annoying for no reason, you get their dynamic and sometimes it's fun but it's just too much

I…I don’t know what the point of this was? They really really had to drag this out. It has that contemplative reality vibe, but the characters don’t act like actual people, the overarching mystery is…boring. The explanation is just lame and lacking, and honestly, sort of implied. The characters hide things for no reason, read too much into things that don’t need reading into, foreshadow events that never happen, and the ending doesn’t give any closure. And they don’t act like real people, at ALL. None of them. Things happen that are just explained by “government” and “powerful people”. It’s a whole lot of nothing, that leads up to a mostly nothing ending. The message, I understood, but its execution was frankly, poor and very cliche. The acting was great, but the dialogue and direction of the characters? They didn’t feel like they had real thoughts, or a real personality, or even real opinions about each other. Countless stories have executed similar concepts better. This movie had the intrigue, and really, the premise is great, but its execution was like an AI wrote the plot points.
