The concept of the story was good but Ava’s character was completely out of character for the background she came from. Inconsistency was rampant in the writing and a lot of time was wasted in getting Ava to accept her purpose. I mean 1/2 the series wasted. Other characters were not developed to meld the show together with a solid plot under the guise of twists and turns, it just didn’t make sense. The science lady and her son even at the end made no sense. There were too many bad guys that were never clearly defined and so the show fragmented all over the place. When Mary kicks Ava off the cliff I felt a sense of satisfaction, I actually laughed because I felt like kicking her off something hoping it would knock some sense into her and the story would begin to come together. Sadly it didn’t. There were so many other contradictions to the characters and what their abilities were. The plot was chaotic and followed no timeline. I felt the actors did well in spite of the poor writing. I saw other reviews that say this season was just a set up for the 2nd season and I could agree if they had not made Ava so annoying and the “team” of other warriors in an order centuries old anything but a team. Wish they could create a do over and get it right and be deserving of a second season.
The episode titles, there is no Ecclesiasticus 26:9-10. Not sure what that reference is supposed to be.
