I would advise everyone who watched this film to go and watch the PBS interview with Mamie Till before she died ( The Murder of Emmett Till ). This movie is a water-down version of the true story. I saw so many lies in this movie. Only two men played a part in the kidnapping of Emmett. Not a truck full of black men. Over 100,000 people showed up to his funeral, not a few hundred. Emmett's story was not broadcast on the news, which was the problem. Mamie Till was a woman who held her own. She didn’t need a man hugging her in comfort every five minutes. She drew strength, courage, and resilience from her baby boy. She didn’t have time to mourn his loss correctly. It was her courage that sparked the Civil Rights Movement. Once people saw this baby boy's body, they knew the fight was far from over. This movie is a disgrace to our history. It is sickening to see, after all those years, an opportunity to tell an essential part of history correctly gone to waste on purpose…..
