This book is bizarre....?
The main plot drifts away to a footnote (Sam)
There are too many twists that don't have any supporting information.
The main character is inept and not believable.
Too many references to character's actions/thoughts/feelings that are not required (especially inner monologues).
All in all, a pretentious, touchy/feely book that feels like wading through treacle to read, without a plot reward.
I was reminded of Willam Dafoes narration to his movie in "Mr Bean's Holiday" ... bland and sleep inducing.
A very dissapointing read ... but I should have known by "who" was recommending this book ( and the low price).
