An imaginative concept (a world of lost items) with good character development. My 6 and 9 year old enjoyed parts of it and I shed a tear or two myself. The first part of this book is quite dark and, in my opinion, too depressing for a children's book. My children have experienced loss and trauma - I wouldn't have purchased the book had I fully realized how much this book touched on domestic issues. It's not so much the topic as the treatment, which paints divorce, remarriage and blended families with the bleakest of brushes.
