Started off as a really exciting book and then started to fall apart as an increasingly tangled and flawed plot unraveled. The lead character, Elin Warner, is self-absorbed in her own family history and not very professional or believable as a detective.
It took me 2 or 3 days to read the majority and about 3 weeks to read the last few chapters as I’d become so annoyed by it.
I hope Sarah Pearse writes another book as I think she’s got great potential as an author but she needs to streamline it and make some of the characters more likeable, or at least come to life more.
