A compelling storyline, good music and acceptable cinematography is what held the movie together despite below average performances from Stalin and Aditi Rao Hydari. Mysskin definitely did try to bring out the brute nature of a psychopath through a very strong antagonist but the fire never burnt through when it came to convincing the audience of how real the story is. There definitely was a theatrical exaggeration to many scenes but some of them came across only as plain stupid and unreasonable. Although Mysskin has tried hard to keep some bright spots to prevent the movie from becoming a downright horror show, the comic relief was mostly ill timed. Kudos to Nithya Menen's work on the film which seemed closest to being a real character.
Overall, Mysskin did have big shoes to fill with the title of the film, however, it most certainly is only a one time watch. People who walk into the movie theater expecting the Super Deluxe brilliance that Mysskin portrayed will most certainly be disappointed.
