Although they have improved one on one battles the game is still a defensive bore-fest, in ultimate team if you don't have a good team expect to get zero shots at goal the whole game, ea have not increased the skill gap but rather decreased the effectiveness of lower-rated players and increased the effectiveness of higher rated players such that it makes it impossible to compete in FUT without spending $$$$. This is simply because of the focus on pace this year; low rated players don't have the pace so the opposition just holds the sprint button on a counter and they're through on goal, if you have two teams of good pacey players there's hardly any football in-between just counter-attacks and score. The skill gap should be in outplaying your opponent in midfield and breaking down his defense. Having Mbappe and holding down the sprint button is not skill.
