Very awe inspiring , intellectually stimulating book specially well put and excellently written for animal lovers and science lovers .. They say don’t judge the book by its cover .. I never heard of Ed Yong before - and I always judged all my books by their authors - in this case, I fell deeply in love with the book cover - so I judged this book by its cover . First chapter, I said to myself “so far so good “- then to the next - up to the last chapter -Save the Quiet Preserve the Dark - the main subject matters mentioned in the chapter are the things I am complaining about in our present day Earth ( light pollution for astronomers, Birds, fishes ) noise pollution for ocean mammals etc - I cried about how we shuffled wildlife replacing indigenous species with invasive ones , as we are instigating era of biological annihilation .. after reading the book over and over , I bought another one as a gift for someone important in my life.. Mr Ed Yong, you could conclude, is not out to make profit from this book , instead, you could feel his yearning , so that we may become aware of frailty of animal species and how we can help take care of them enabling us to maintain a balanced ecosystem… Excellent Book - Par Excellence Sir Ed Yong!
