Ethan Hawkes turns in a nuanced performance as Reverend Toller, a troubled pastor who confronts several crises, to put it mildly. The performance is all the more remarkable for bridging the film's tonal range which begins with Bergmanesque introspection (think"Winter Light") and builds to a "Taxi"-like finale. I liked it a lot!
