I don’t understand why the Chinese actresses have to paint their faces in such dreadful white plaster like make up. Do the make up artists not know how to do an authentic Chineses make up? For goodness sakes, why do they need to look so fake and white?! Especially, the “Holly Queen’s” make up is like Holly Cow!!! I watch Chinese Dramas to improve my language skill and I do enjoy many of the story lines, but, the make up is like the Chinese Operas’. They just caked it on there. OMG! Can’t the make up artists learn what more natural looking make up can really transcend for the actors and actress???? This show would have been a 5 stars, but the make up puts it in a low 3 category.

There maybe a good story line here; but, the rap music is irritating and not reflective of the period in time. Every time the RAP music comes on I want to turn the show off. Too bad! Pros: this show did not give all the Chinese actors white faces like so many of the Chinese dramas. Some the females are so white and ghastly looking in so many of the Chinese dramas they look fake and ridiculous. Be comfortable and proud in our own skin.
