Sci Fi/soft porn/obscure Shakespearean or Greek tragic love story. A ship is sent to Alpha Centauri with a human and an android aboard. During the voyage the relationship between the two goes from sex puppet, to emotional desire, white knight, adversarial, hatred, savior, love, repentance and loss. Stoya of porn industry fame is cast as the android and there are several extended scenes of lustful passion. The story is fairly barebones and the science is nonsensical, but essentially the human wrestles with the emotional baggage that made him one who finds the solitude he prefers in extended solo space missions. The android struggles with developing human emotion and self awareness. Overall its a slightly better than fair watch if you are drawn into the romance end of it, the sci fi end is flimsy on the science but makes the effort and given how the FX were shot I'm guessing a modest budget courting a 'less is more' approach. The stuff they do show you is on the good side of adequate. I do get lost at the very end as the shot widens away from the ship and am unclear if the mission is lost or if I'm interpreting the shot incorrectly. All in all its at least the equal to some of the better modest budget SyFy offerings.

Growth and revelation coming from an unexpected source. About 5 minutes in I was expecting a semi dry comedy in the form of an advert for sexbots with one of those cut and paste 'everyone is okay' endings tacked on. Instead we get an abridged discussion on technological advancement creating the opportunity to withdraw into separate worlds where we are king with 'lifelike' sexbots being the final piece to complete the kingdoms. Then something unexpected happens that shifts the focus of character and viewer. Gives a perspective on a possible future in a much more pragmatic fashion than what we typically get when this road is travelled. Don't think it will win any awards outside a posthumous nod from Asimov. It watches like a student film version of the series Humans (Being Human). ranks more a 3.6 so rounded up.

Toughest first day on the job ever. Does what Colors and Training Day couldn't manage with all that Hollyweird they were wearing. Gives you a lot to think about in 110 minutes. Definitely worth seeing.

solid and simple straight forward plot that is easy to follow, realistic tech arc for near future portrayal. compare to Chronicle (2012) and I AM Number 4 (2011) in production value and cinematography. recommended.

Just go see it. It's easy to forget that each one of us have the choice to make a positive difference in life, even if its to just one person. It will make your day.

A fairly interesting expansion of the Watchmen universe 30 years after 'the event' (for which they use the comic version instead of the movie version). Solid production value and player lineup. I'm thinking someone in the creative or production arena has an Elba fetish, time will tell. The big pieces still haven't lined up yet so we will have to see if they will put it together or pull a Sarah Connor Chronicles on us. As it stands now its compelling enough that I am looking forward to the next episode.
