Saw Season 1 and was enthralled with the depictions of the various characters and events. It took awhile to understand "what and who" in the first episode or so--the issues with Simon and the others. But it was worth hanging in there. Nicodemus and Matthew are surprises in a beautiful way. (Who would have thought of Matthew as on the autism specrum?--wonderfully so.) Jesus is not depicted as sentimental or ethereal, but a thoughtful, strong, attentive, loving (and joyful) man. The casting, acting, sets, costumes all are superb.
