The star of this film is the beautiful California coast and Carmel. We know that it was Eastwood’s first attempt at directing and it shows. The script is thin and the scenes disjointed. No one could miss the obvious signs that his fan displayed. She was a nutter from the word Hello. Still worth watching as a blast from the past.

Oh please!!! Too many people talking at once, too many words in the script, too many ridiculous situations. Apparently this was considered comedy in the 60s. How times have changed!!

Was there a director?? Apparently not. The actors appear to just wing it and say lines. What a disgusting excuse for a movie.

A classic. Great actors and great story. Black and white made it more creepy. Bette Davis is our greatest actor ever.

Dated, yes but still an enjoyable movie. Love the sets, clothes and great cars. Unfortunately, the sexist submissive role of women doesn’t seem to translate well to today. However, to be honest, it is still a man’s world just not as obvious these days.

The reviews rave about this film. I can only assume that money changed hands. Perhaps humor was different in 1954. I found nothing funny in the entire film. The situations were not funny, the dialogue was not funny and even the sets were artificial. Sorry but I just didn’t get it.

Of all the flipping shows this is my absolute favorite. Yes Scott is loud but there has to be something to make the script about. Amie is just adorable and has good design ideas that Scott eventually agrees to. Hey it’s a TV show folks. Just for entertainment.

Good suspense film. All actors are great in their roles. However why did Hurt use a sudo English accent??

All time favorite series. So glad that it is available on Pluto. The scenery in and around San Francisco is beautiful. Malden is just wonderful and Douglas is his perfect partner. They seem so natural together. The fifth season was a disappointment after Douglas left. Hatch is so wooden. And the stories seem poorly written. Even the theme music was changed and not for the better. But even after 50 years it is still a great series and a great watch. I love it!!

Unexpected story with a satisfying ending. After all of the depictions of Sherlock Holmes presented over the years, this was a less glamorous and very human one of the legendary detective. All of the actors were perfect in their roles and the settings beautifully photographed. It bears watching again.
