I absolutely love the concept of turning my most favorite game into a tv series. I was (and still) am all for it! The directors and cast were able to capture the emotional, visual, and overall heart wrenching journey of Ellie and Joel. The only flaw or thing i didn’t like about the show was that they missed a lot of important moment seen in the gameplay. It felt more of like a road trip by walking than it did an “apocalypse” if you know what I mean. I wish they had more infected, clickers, bloater scenes like the game. We saw that only in the very few episodes rather than throughout the series. An example of this is how in the show Joel and Ellie were able to just walk right into the Firefly base towards the end of the series, whereas in the game we experienced a more terrifying walk through a freeway tunnel full of infected clickers and bloaters. Another example would be Riley and Ellie’s mall scene, in the game they were chased by a few runners whereas in the series only 1 caused so much damage. The characters are more stronger in gameplay than they were in the series which is another thing I love/hate. I enjoy the realistic thinking behind changing the scenes, but I dislike how far from the game it feels you know? I understand wanting to elaborate scenes in the game by portraying that in the show, but I feel like a couple more episodes wouldn’t have done any harm.
