This beautiful story delighted me as much as my daughter and her friends. Minoring in Italian in college then living there a few years later gave me an affinity for Italian art house movies. Beautifully executed and authentically accurate to the landscape and culture of Liguria, in the region where I once lived in Northern Italy, Luca is reminiscent of beautifully executed coming of age films such as Cinema Paradiso and Motorcycle Diaries. I love that Pixar partnered with director Enrico Casarosa to introduce a new generation ro the important genres of Italian neorealism and surrealist cinema. ❤️
