I have never read the book/s so I can't say much about that. The acting is great, the gore is perfect, the story line is meh. It's really slow throughout the whole series and the ending is kinda frustrating, kinda like HIMYM (talking about a sucky ending). If you have nothing to do or you just can't pick anything to watch then this is a good choice.
